Prince of Peace School is conveniently located in NW Portland at the corner of NW 143rd and NW Cornell Rd. in the Cedar Mill Neighborhood. (situated 1⁄2 mile off Hwy 26)
Our History
Our school began in 1983 as a mission of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church to provide an excellent Christian preschool choice for our neighboring families. Prince of Peace School, or POP, now serves 170 families a year and hosts a staff of 14 teachers!

Philosophy of Education
Prince of Peace School believes children learn best and have the most fun learning, when opportunities are given to be hands-on and play-based! Although Prince of Peace School is well-known for successfully helping children learn developmentally appropriate academic concepts, we maintain our commitment to learning that nurtures the playful heart of the child!
Curiosity and Learning
Our dramatic play centers, varieties of manipulatives, interesting book corners, art centers and inviting science areas promote curiosity and independent learning! Ample time is given each day for free exploration and social play, including time on our playgrounds and in our full-sized gym!
Facilities and Gym
Our gym also hosts our free family events, such as OMSI nights, Movie Nights, Christmas Parties, Class Musical Programs, Easter Programs, Presto the Magician and much more! Our bright, clean and spacious facilities are up-to-date and professionally inspected and maintained. Safety and security for children and staff are a top priority at Prince of Peace School. Emergency fire, lock-down and evacuation safety drills are conducted monthly in all classrooms. Strict adherence to safety policies help to ensure our student’s safety!
